**Position Overview:**
The Mental Health Counselor/Therapist will provide therapeutic services to clients using sign language. This role involves counseling individuals experiencing psychological and emotional issues and helping them develop strategies for improving their mental health and well-being.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions using sign language to facilitate communication with clients who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique needs.
- Perform client assessments to identify mental health issues and emotional challenges.
- Maintain detailed and confidential records of client progress and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care to clients.
- Stay informed about new therapy techniques and advancements in mental health care to better serve clients.
- Engage in community outreach and educational workshops to raise awareness about mental health issues within the deaf and hard-of-hearing communities.
- Adhere to ethical standards and legal requirements related to counseling and therapy.
**Qualifications:**
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Licensure or certification as a Counselor or Therapist [specify applicable state licensure].
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other sign languages.
- Proven experience in providing mental health counseling or therapy.
