Collaborating Psychiatrist
- **Job Title: Collaborating Psychiatrist**
**Job Summary:**
We are seeking board-certified Psychiatrists to provide administrative and clinical collaboration for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) across the United States. This role is designed for a streamlined, "chart-review" style collaboration to satisfy state regulatory requirements for NP practice.
As the Collaborative Psychiatrist, you will play a vital role in expanding access to mental health care by supporting high-quality NP-led practices. This is a low-intensity, flexible role that can easily be integrated into your existing private practice or full-time schedule.
**Key Responsibilities:**
Regulatory Compliance: Serve as the designated collaborating physician for PMHNPs in states requiring a collaborative agreement.
Clinical Consultation: Provide occasional consultation on complex cases, medication management, or diagnostic clarification via email, phone, or secure messaging.
Chart Reviews: Conduct periodic audits of patient records (monthly or quarterly, depending on specific state regulations) to ensure adherence to standard protocols.
Document Execution: Sign necessary state-specific collaborative agreements and prescriptive authority forms.
Availability: Be available for emergency consultation during standard business hours (though actual outreach is typically infrequent).
**Qualifications:**
Education: Medical Degree (MD) from an accredited institution.
Certification: Board Certification in Psychiatry (ABPN) is required.
Licensure: Must hold at least one active, unrestricted state medical license. Candidates with multiple state licenses or a willingness to apply for additional licenses via the IMLC are highly preferred.
Credentials: Active DEA registration.
Professionalism: A supportive, collaborative mindset toward the NP-MD relationship and a commitment to high-quality patient care.
Technical Requirements
Secure, HIPAA-compliant high-speed internet.
Comfort using various EMR/EHR platforms for chart auditing.
Prompt responsiveness to administrative and clinical inquiries (typically within 24–48 hours).
Compensation & Benefits
Impact: Support the expansion of psychiatric services in underserved areas and "mental health deserts."
Flexibility: 100% remote work with no direct patient care requirements.
Scalability: You choose the number of NPs you wish to collaborate with (subject to state-specific caps).
Predictable Income: $100 per month for each PMHNP under your collaboration.
We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences. If you’re passionate about mental health and collaborative care, we would love to hear from you!
Note: This role does not require you to see patients directly or manage the NP’s daily practice operations. It is Strictly a supervisory/collaborative role focused on regulatory compliance and clinical mentorship.
